Overview

Bench Jewelers are an integral part of the Shane Co. com team. The Digital Fulfillment Bench Jeweler will perform all requested and necessary work on jewelry to include setting, sizing, re-tipping, welding, soldering, polishing, engraving, cleaning, and other work consistent with Shane Co standards of quality, service, and timeliness.

 

We are looking for bench jewelers who can demonstrate the ability to work in a fast paced and results-based job environment while building and maintaining relationships and championing Shane Co. company culture and values. We are seeking a bench jeweler who leads by example in areas of personal character, values, commitment, organizational skills, and work habits. Successful candidates for the role must be friendly, respectful, and genuinely interested in the success of the shop.

Responsibilities

Shop Work

  • Ensure the quality of Company merchandise and make and provide accurate assessments of merchandise quality and condition.
  • Provide accurate assessments of merchandise quality and condition so that the company may make proper decisions on the best course of action.
  • Maintain the shop and personal workspace in a clean, organized, presentable, and efficient manner.
  • Maintain, operate, service and clean as necessary all shop equipment and tools ensuring at all times safe operation and maintenance.
  • Maintain and request as necessary all shop supplies, to include tools and findings, findings inventory and adhering to best shop practices. This includes the proper consumption and recovery of findings as per Company direction.
  • Constantly pursue personal and shop improvement and development by learning, sharing, and updating yourself on new and more effective and/or efficient jeweler skills, processes, and methods.
  • Use technology such as computers and tablets for shop job tracking and engraving.

Collaboration

  • Work professionally, efficiently, and courteously with all departments fostering teamwork and respect.
  • Communicate issues or concerns through appropriate channels.
  • Supporting Home Office and other store shops with work and special projects.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of prior bench experience is preferred.
  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Must possess a high level of visual acuity and manual dexterity.
  • Great ability to provide and receive feedback from peers, supervisors and adapt behavior with coaching.
  • Comfortable with technology.
  • Must be able to effectively manage deadlines.
  • Must be able to demonstrate basic communication skills in both written and spoken English, as well as basic math.
  • Ensure a positive and engaging workplace for all by embodying company values such as integrity, continuous improvement and teamwork.

Work Environment

The primary environment for this role is in assigned production-focused workshop. This role requires sitting for significant periods of time. This role requires bending, stooping, reaching, twisting, and occasional lifting of objects. This role requires close attention to visual detail, extreme manual dexterity, and color discernment. In addition, business is conducted using the telephone and computer technology. Work environment includes noise, flames, tools, and utilization of standard bench jeweler equipment. Travel may be required to stores, conferences or events on occasion.

Base Pay range for this role is $25-$40/hr, which applies to this specific role in this location only.  

  • Your placement in the range is determined through interviews, a review of experience, knowledge, skills, balanced pay with other team members and alignment with geographic market data.  While we target most new hire offers toward the lower end of the listed range, more demonstrated sales experience, knowledge, and skills may result in a higher starting rate. Average performance will earn a moderate increase each year, while high performers can earn a very generous annual increase.  Once you join us, we pay for performance and there is no ceiling to your base pay rate over time.
