The Assistant/Associate Buy Planner (Bridal) is responsible for the maintenance of inventory and sales plans. Scrutinizing historical performance for areas of opportunity in retail sales, inventory growth or reduction, and increased product margins. The role is responsible for the creation and upkeep of orders. This role reports to the Buy Planner (Bridal) of the specific product area. 

• Assist with monitoring budgets to a subcategory level for each buying group.
• Assist in creation of planner-generated weekly reporting.
• Assist with summarizing, analyzing and presenting actual performance against plan.
• Assist with analyzing historical performance and current trends to forecast demand for current and new styles and identify areas of opportunity and risk.
• Assist in building assortment and inventory plans.
• Assists with monitoring inventory conditions and in-stock rates, identify issues, and recommending solutions.
• Assists in maintaining unique assortment of each specific market to target the needs of customers.
• Assists in identifying underperforming articles and propose discontinuing, markdown, or scrapping.
• Assist in executing replenishment buys.
• Review minimum quantities of each specific primary hierarchy and escalate suggestions to Buy Planner.
• Responsible for monitoring the current turn percent for each primary hierarchy and identifying items that fall out of the company range.
• Partner with the Assistant/Associate Merchant and Assistant/Associate Product Development Manager to ensure timely, organized assortment-flow handoffs across teams

• 1-3+ years of experience in retail merchandise planning & optimization, demand forecasting, inventory management, pricing analysis, and replenishment buying.
• Expertise in Microsoft Excel, Work, and PowerPoint.
• Intermediate knowledge of retail planning.
• Proper principals and practice of data collection and consolation.
• Strong communication skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.

Proactive and solutions-focused, they recognize risks to product availability and performance, recommend adjustments, and escalate issues promptly when decisions exceed their authority. Collaborative and responsive, they communicate clearly with Buy Planners, Merchants, and Product Development partners while balancing quantitative analysis with customer preferences, market needs, and product intuition.

The primary environment for this role is a combination of an open office and a remote workplace. Considerable business is conducted using the telephone and computer technology. This role is expected to be on-site in Home Office one (1) day per week on an ongoing basis. Travel may be required to stores, conferences or events up to 5% of the time.
